Kawaii But Make It Cozy: Sanrio Home Decor Ideas That Feel Like a Hug
Sanrio has several cute characters that are loved by millions! The plethora of cute designs and their lovable personalities make them a worldwide sensation. Many people collect figurines, bags, clothes, furniture, skin care products, and many other items just because it depicts their favorite Sanrio character on it! I am not immune to this.
As a lover of Cinnamoroll and My Melody, it's hard for me to pass up on buying a sticker or hair accessory when I see their adorable faces on it! With the characters being so cherished by so many people, it's no wonder they want to decorate their room in a way that is inspired by these cute characters! So, I will show you how you can create the ultimate Sanrio Paradise based on your favorite character!
Cinnamoroll
Cinnamoroll is one of my favorite characters. I just love how sweet and innocent they are! Plus, their color palette is simple yet effective. Blue and white make a gorgeous color pairing, and, with a touch of pink, you'll have the ultimate Cinnamoroll color palette!
To create a Cinnamoroll inspired room, you definitely want to start with your bed. Since Cinnamoroll is mostly white, I recommend getting a bedding set that is white and pairing it with light blue pillows. Another option is to get a light blue gingham bed with white sheets and white pillows. Consider also adding texture by getting some fluffy throw pillows! As for the rest of the room, things like white or blue curtains, a blue rug, and white furniture will help create the perfect Cinnamoroll inspired room! Be sure to remember to add small pink accents like pink lamps, pink pillows, a pink mirror, or pink wall decor to really round everything out!
My Melody
My Melody is all about pink on top of pink and then even more pink with splashes of white and yellow. Sanrio has depicted her without her iconic yellow bow at times, so, if your not a fan of yellow, including it is optional. She is such a cheery character and I love how upbeat she is! Creating a room inspired by her is as simple as searching up pink and then whatever item you want.
Starting with the bed a light pink or or more saturated pink is a good place to start. You can also pair these together with a light pink bedding with dark pink pillows. You can also go for a white bedding with pink sheets and pink pillows.
When looking for furniture, look for anything in pink. if that is unavailable, search for white furniture. You can then put pink accents like a pink lamp or a pink alarm clock. Make sure you buy plenty of shelves to carry all your My Melody memorabilia!
Kuromi
Seen as the dark opposite to My Melody, Kuromi is all about black, purple, and pink. Her mischievous grin and pointed ears have charmed people for years and it's no wonder that she is loved by so many. If you love black and pink, you'll definitely love a Kuromi bedroom!
A black and pink bed is perfect for a Kuromi bedroom, but black and purple is also a great choice. For pillows, I recommend pink or purple. Since Kuromi design leans more towards gothic, search for cute gothic motifs like Kuromi’s pink skull that she has on her headdress. For furniture, it's simple. Go for black, pink, or purple!

Pompompurin
Who doesn't love this adorable doggy! Don't you just want to hug him? He has a simple color palette which makes it easy to design a room around him. Yellow and brown go very well together and give off a cheery and comforting vibe which fits Pompompuri’s description to a T.
For the bed, it should be a soft yellow to much Pompompurin's body, and the pillows should be a chocolate brown too much his hat. If you're not into a plain yellow bedding set, I also recommend going for a soft yellow gingham pattern. If you want to, adding touches of pink is also a good idea since Pompompurin's color palette pairs well with pink.
If you can find furniture in the light brown that would be ideal. You can pair a light brown desk nightstand or mirror with yellow lamps, a yellow rug, yellow curtains or anything that can come in a soft yellow color.
Keroppi
Let's get green! I love this little guy's cute smile and large curious eyes! He is so cute! For the ultimate Keroppi look, start with a light green, red, and dark green color palette.
Keroppi features stripes in their design, so consider looking for items with stripes when decorating your room. As an example, when looking at bedding, think about getting striped bedding for your room! You can pair striped bedding with light green or dark green sheets and pillows. If you're not into stripes, go for a plain green bedding set!
Although it may be hard to find, I think green furniture would look cute, but if it is hard to find white furniture will also do. And decorating your room, I would incorporate some striped decor along with playing light and dark green decor. As an example, if you have a red striped lamp on your nightstand and and then also have a green alarm clock.
Hello Kitty
Last but certainly not least is Hello Kitty! She is the poster child of the Sanrio company, and needs no introduction! To create the perfect Hello Kitty bedroom, start with her iconic color palette that is a beautiful and balanced mix of white, red, blue and yellow.
To create a bedroom inspired by Hello Kitty, I would have a plain white biting set with a mix of red and blue pillows. I also think that having a plain white set with blue sheets with red pillows is also a good idea. To incorporate a bit of yellow, you could have yellow pillows or blankets.
White is ideal when looking for furniture, however red and blue furniture is also a good idea if you want something bold. Hello Kitty's iconic red bow is something that also should be included in any bedroom inspired by her. so be on the lookout for furniture or decor with the bow motif!
