Anna Bernice's Berlin Bedroom: Where Writing, Memory, and Home Gently Meet

Anna Bernice Delos Reyes’ Berlin studio is quiet in a way that feels intentional. Light moves gently across the room. Fabrics soften the edges of the day. Nothing here asks for urgency. It is a space made for thinking, resting, and writing at an unhurried pace.

Her bedroom sits at the center of it all. A silky rust-pink ruffle bedding set by Ever Lasting anchors the room. The fabric catches the light, shifting between warmth and calm. It feels romantic without being precious. Lived-in, not staged. This is where Anna Bernice begins most mornings and where many of her ideas first take shape.

I do a lot of my writing from bed,” she says simply. “It’s where I feel most settled.”

A Life Shaped by Movement and Choice

Born and raised in the Philippines, Anna Bernice moved away at nineteen to study sociology, theater, and visual arts at NYU Abu Dhabi. Her education took her across cities and continents. New York. Berlin. Prague. Each place taught her something different about ambition, freedom, and belonging.

It sounds like a jet-setter life,” she reflects, “but most of it was funded by the school. It made these experiences possible.”

Berlin became the place that stayed. It felt slower. Gentler. Less consumed by competition.

There’s an undertone of freedom here,” Anna Bernice says. “It comes from history, from people living differently.”

That sense of ease now shapes both her work and her home.

From Performance to Holding Space

Anna Bernice began her creative life in performance art, working with movement, the body, and social behavior. Over time, her focus shifted. What fulfilled her most was collaboration.

I realized I loved commissioning artists and shaping conversations,” she says. “Watching ideas grow beyond what I could do alone.”

This instinct led her to co-found Sa Tahanan Co, a Filipino art collective dedicated to supporting artists across the diaspora. Community sits at the core of the work. Sharing resources. Making access visible. Creating archives through printed matter like zines and postcards.

Exhibitions disappear,” Anna Bernice explains. “Print stays.”

Objects That Ground the Room

Anna Bernice’s studio is filled with personal objects. Artworks from friends. Wooden bowls sourced with her mother. Books that feel more like companions than decoration. Each piece carries memory.

Scent matters too. Lavender. Rose incense. The room smells calm. Familiar. Light changes throughout the day, softening the space even further.

Nothing feels excessive. Everything feels chosen.

The Bedroom as Sanctuary

The bedroom is where life and creativity overlap most clearly. The Ever Lasting bedding becomes part of that rhythm. Smooth against the skin. Cooling in the evening. Gentle in the morning.

Changing sheets feels like a reset. A small ritual of care. Rest and work blur here, without guilt.

It’s a small space,” Anna Bernice says, “but it works.”

A kitchen window nearby becomes another ritual space. Coffee. Quiet gossip. Small pauses that make the city feel like home.

Rooted in the Everyday

Anna Bernice doesn’t rush language or belonging. She speaks honestly about visas, about learning German slowly, about settling into a neighborhood until it feels like its own world.

Once you’re rooted somewhere in Berlin,” she says, “moving feels like moving cities.”

Her home reflects that rootedness. Calm. Intentional. Supportive.

New Beginnings, Held Gently

As the year turns and the season grows quieter, Anna Bernice’s space feels especially resonant. Her bedroom becomes a place of restoration. Of soft mornings and early nights. Of reflection without pressure.

This story mirrors the spirit of New Beginnings 2026. Not loud reinvention, but gentle renewal. The kind that starts at home. In rest. In comfort.

As Christmas approaches, there is something deeply hopeful in this kind of space. A reminder that new chapters do not always begin with movement. Sometimes, they begin exactly where you are. In a warm bed. Wrapped in fabric that feels familiar. Surrounded by objects that remind you who you are becoming.
